Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Qiulin Zhou ("we", "us") handles information in the AskCaddie mobile application ("the App"). Please read it together with our Terms of Use.

1. The short version

The App uses your device's location while you are using it to show distances and your position on the course. It does not run an account system for its core features. We use a small number of third-party services to provide maps and imagery, to show ads in the free version, to understand how the App is used, and to process payments; these are listed in Section 3. We do not sell your personal information. Your location is used to power the App's features and is not used to identify you to advertisers.

2. Information the App handles

Location data. When you use the App, it accesses your device's location (GPS) to show your position on the course and to calculate distances to greens, hazards, and other points. Location is used while the App is in use (in the foreground); the App does not track your location in the background. We do not build a persistent location profile of you; location is used to provide the live features and is not retained on our servers for that purpose.

Course and round data. Scores, rounds, and similar information you enter or generate while using the App are stored to provide the scorecard and history features. Where the App offers an optional account or cloud sync, this data may be stored with the relevant service to provide that feature.

Device and usage data. To run, secure, and improve the App, we and the services in Section 3 process technical and usage information such as device model, operating-system version, App version, language, coarse region, app events and interactions, advertising identifiers (in the free version), and crash and diagnostic logs.

Purchase data. When you make a purchase, the payment platform processes the transaction and confirms your entitlement to us; we do not receive your full card number.

3. Third-party services we use

The App includes the following third-party software. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

MapboxMap tiles and satellite imagery for the course viewApproximate or precise location, device and usage data, IP address

The free version of the App shows advertising. Advertising partners may use device and advertising identifiers and coarse location to select and measure ads. Your precise course location and course/round data are used to provide the App's features and are not provided to advertising partners for ad targeting. You can limit ad personalisation through your device settings (for example, "Limit Ad Tracking" / resetting or deleting the advertising identifier on iOS and Android).

4. How information is used and our legal bases

We use information to provide the App's features (location, distances, maps, scorecard), to process purchases, to keep the App secure and working, to understand and improve how it is used, and — in the free version — to show advertising.

For users in the EEA and the UK, our legal bases under the GDPR are:

We do not use location or course data for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

5. Retention

Location used for live features is processed transiently to provide those features and is not retained on our servers as a location history. Course and round data is kept to provide the scorecard and history features for as long as you use the App or keep an optional account; you can delete it in the App or, where an account exists, by deleting the account. Device, usage, and diagnostic data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Uninstalling the App removes its on-device data.

6. Sharing

We share information only as described in this Policy: with the third-party services in Section 3 to provide the App's features, advertising in the free version, analytics, and payments; where required by law or to protect rights and safety; and, if our business is transferred, with a successor that remains bound by this Policy. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, use the controls in the App and your device settings, or contact us at support@askcaddieapp.com.

8. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@askcaddieapp.com and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Where information is processed in a country other than the one you live in, we and the services in Section 3 rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the relevant standard contractual clauses) where the law requires them.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy as the App changes or the law requires. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, present the updated Policy in the App.
